Upstate Manhattan
3 oz bourbon whiskey
1 oz apricot brandy
1/2 oz vermouth
1 dashAngostura bitter
orange
Special instructions:
Being a chemist, I've a penchant for expanding off of old ideas: I've always been a fan of bourbons and manhattans and decided to make something a little sweeter one night. Best to use Jim Beam or some other low-cost but good-tasting bourbon or whiskey...but by all means: experiment! The name makes no sense...but it does have a nice ring to it.Fill an old-fashioned glass with ice and add - in order - the bitters, bourbon/whiskey, vermouth and brandy. This should only require a little stir to mix the ingredients enough. Twist the orange peel over the drink and drop in: voila! Note: As with all bourbon or whiskey drinks, DO NOT use SoCo; it is not at all related to bourbon or whiskey and makes this and any other drink taste COMPLETELY different.
